Business Insider

Thursday, November 3 from 6 – 7:30 PM in World Room

Nicholas Carlson Global Editor-in-Chief of Insider will be speaking about building a Global Newsroom in today’s media landscape. Carlson is bringing key editors and hiring managers to meet and speak with students following a fireside chat with j-school alum, Reed Alexander ’20.

Launched in 2007 as Business Insider, Insider has become a globally influential news organization covering a variety of stories to the digital generation. With hundreds of millions of unique visitors monthly and 10 editions around the world in six languages, it has a massive global footprint.

Insider maintains bureaus on multiple continents, with newsroom presences in New York, the West Coast, London, and Singapore, and a forthcoming bureau in India.

Roles that frequently open include fellowships for early-career journalists and full-time reporter positions as well. All three of the publication’s web editorial divisions — business, news, and life — are currently searching to fill open positions.
