CJS is happy to announce this year’s Hearst Digital Media Lecturer is Kevin Merida. Hearst Digital Media Lectures examine the changing media industry with an emphasis on digital media and online journalism.

Kevin Merida became the executive editor of the Los Angeles Times earlier this year, and one of his missions is to remake the company in the digital age. He was quoted as saying, “I would like to redefine what a modern newspaper is.” It’s a task he is well suited for given his earlier experience at ESPN and the Washington Post. We are delighted to have him join us virtually for the Hearst Digital Media Lecture. Dean of Academic Affairs Winnie O’Kelley will moderate the discussion and welcomes any questions from the audience in advance.
