Marc Mejia, Senior International Student Advisor, and Rosaceli Malek, International Student Adviser, at Columbia’s International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) discuss applying for F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) after graduation (https://isso.columbia.edu/content/f-1-opt-optional-practical-training-after-your-degree-program). OPT is a benefit and extension of F-1 student status that allows you to work in your field of study for up to 12 months and is authorized by the immigration agency, USCIS. This session is a must for all international students hoping to stay and work in the U.S. after graduation.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is open to all currently enrolled Columbia Journalism School students only. This event is virtual. All students will attend on Zoom.
