- Happy Hours: two times a week, one at the J school in a week when we got a special deal from Brooklyn Brewery (arranged by Matt)
- One event at the school where we could invite either CUNY or NYU
- Sid: Spoke to the CUNY J-School president, good idea to have some interaction with SPJ

III. Isablle Schaffer, Publications Coordinator:
- Want to brainstorm if people have ideas for the yearbook design
IV. Vadim Lavrusik, Webmaster:
- WordPress is installed, meeting on Sunday on how to manage the site and build it up
V. Sonia Dasgupta, Student Life Chair:
- Made some money from Halloween grams
- Sold less than we thought because we didn’t explain it thoroughly, so in the future we will
- Game Night: should be some time in November, twister, Wii, buy pizza and have it be BYOB
- Stress Relief night: hour of yoga, body painting, balloons, etc.
- “Self-stress relief” – give each other massages
- Need to put stuff on the board so send a picture or I will steal one from Facebook
VI. Josh Tapper, Movie Coordinator:
- Charles Taylor, will talk in the coming weeks
VII. Chasen Marshall, Board Member:
- FRESH: positive outlook on what can be done about food, maybe put together a school wide screening, SPJ would have to purchase a license to screen the movie, the director would like to come a speak as well
- FRESH: Documentary 72 mins, good way to get people together and talking about the issue
- Could get heated and incite a good debate, do we need to rent the rooms here?
- License costs $300 if there are over 100 people viewing , Josh Tapper will help coordinate, accept donations
VIII. Andrew Springer, University Senator:
- If you talk to people who have university wide issues, talk to me.
- University Senate is chaired by the Pres. Bollinger, so we have a good forum
IX. Tim Kiladze, Treasurer:
- Hoodie: straight across
- Tee Shirt: small left breast logo
- Sweatpants: down leg
- Got a quote today, I have the prices they charged last year
- Hoodie: heavier quality $7-10 more expensive than lower quality, estimate a $45 for sweatshirt
- To promote, sell cheaper by a certain date, then price increases
- All orders will be done online through paypal
- $45 may be a good price but maybe sell for $55 after a certain date
- Committee will make a decision so if you have a strong opinion let me know about it
- Made $400 at Halloween party, $20 made from Beer event
X. Daniel Johnson-Kim, Membership Director:
- Please join SPJ as soon as possible because I need to get an idea of who is registered and who is not.
- Have someone from SPJ come and teach us what the benefit is of joining to boost membership
- See spj.org for benefits of membership
- If you do not pay membership dues, you can be kicked out
- “We don’t have to answer to the Deans!!” This represents the students, why does it have to be SPJ. It is our board.
- Springer: No student will not be allowed to participate if they do not pay dues. In 1968 this school was actually on fire, let’s not betray that spirit, this used to be the center of activism, let’s not forget what this institution is about, no student should be kept out of the governing system because they cannot or will not pay the dues
- Ince: If you feel so strongly about not paying dues, take it up with the deans, what are you fighting for
- Philip: We cannot just break off and leave the future classes behind,
- Hunter: there are valid points, since we are on probation from graduate council can we get in on it? We didn’t know there was an advisory board so can we fight and make that happen, maybe SPJ owes us an explanation on what we pay $40 fine
- Callum: we send $3,000 to SPJ and all we get is 50 subscriptions to a publication we get for free
XI. Sid Philip, President, Boat Cruise:
- 16th May 2010, the day before graduation
- we can only afford cruise if each person pays $20 and that does not include alcohol
- Cash bar on boat, we have to book the boat now,
- $4,200 for boat
- Vote on weather to have a party on land and pay less or on boat
- We need to raise funds to pay for some of the boat cruise
- All J school email about ways to raise funds
- BOAT WINS
